The Green Mountain Iron Dog Course is an approximate 1.5 mile run where handler and dog run through a variety of obstacles over various terrain. The course is based on what Police K9 handlers experience during a real life deployment. It is open to the public to compete and observe. Competitors are a mix of military, Police, and civilian. All abilities and dog breeds are welcome. Competitors do not know the course prior to their run, and many obstacles and the final length of the course are a surprise to them.

There are also separate competitions to include building and drug searches, as well as a 100 yard dash (dog only).

The Junior category runner will be running the entire course. More details under "About the Run."

The VPCA is a 501 c 3 non-profit corporation that supports VT's Police K9 teams with additional training, equipment and other needs. We have over 50 members in all branches
of law enforcement, and work with teams around New England.

Green Mountain Iron Dog is happy to accept any donations for either the Vermont Police Canine Association, or Lacey’s Fund. When Clicking Donate, you will have the choice of donating to either. Donations to Vermont Police Canine Association will go towards funding the training and equipment for K9’s Teams, which their department is unable to fund. Donations made to Lacey’s fund will assist K9 Handles in paying for medical treatment for their retired K9’s. 100% of each donation you make, will go to towards the selection you choose.
